JEDDAH: Nidal Radwan, chairman of the constituency committee of the labor unions, said Saudi Vision 2030 would transform the country’s industries and improve productivity. Having dialogue between the government, workers and employers would help achieve the plan’s goals, he said.

Saad Mastoor, vice president of the national commission for the labor market at the Council of Saudi Chambers, also said that collaboration was an important ingredient for the successful transformation of the labor market, which would include the creation of jobs and profits for industry. Mastoor said that elements of this successful plan are already in place and include Saudization programs, incentives, training support and monitoring. However, these programs and projects need to be constantly reviewed to tackle the changing challenges of the labor market, he was quoted as saying.

In a conference call with officials from the ministry recently, Labor and Social Development Minister Mufrej Al-Haqabani said there is a significant focus on a proper social safety net.

The work would include training for the beneficiaries of charities, social welfare recipients, and those in shelters and care centers, he said.
