RIYADH: The King Salman Youth Center held a forum on planning and success on Friday with more than 1,700 women in attendance at the Princess Nora bint Abdul Rahman University (PNU).

A group of experts and specialists served as resource speakers during the forum, which was organized under a memorandum of understanding between the King Salman Center and the PNU.

“The forum aimed to highlight the most prominent skills that could contribute to shaping the future of forum participants,” said Huda Al-Hamoud, a trainer from the PNU’s College of Education.

The forum started with a short film about the King Salman Center’s program and projects to help young men and women carve out a good future for themselves.

This was followed by a discussion on Saudi women who have succeeded, such as Salwa Al-Hazza, head of the Department of Ophthalmology of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center.

Mozah Al-Otaibi, expert on effective educational supervision, talked about the importance of planning and its impact on life as well as “in strategic planning and the first step of a dream.”

Samar Al-Qahtani, a financial planning expert, spoke about saving money and how forum participants could plan financially and be able to deal with fiscal deficits.

She cited the adverse effects of lack of financial planning on the family “which could lead to misunderstanding and separation between husband and wife, and hence the dispersal of children.”

One of the resource speakers touched on the subject of good communication, explaining its stages, objectives and elements, and their contribution to the forum participants’ growing as individuals.

“Education is a continuous process. The ability to express oneself well and communicate is a continuous process,” he said.
