The 2nd Jeddah Dawa Center-Filipino Muslim Students’ Society-Mandoubiyah Al-Dawah North West of Jeddah Friendly Invitational Basketball Tournament kicked off recently at Khalediyah basketball court.

Ten teams entered the three months long tournament. Highlighting the opening was the traditional parade of teams.

The tournament officially started with the opening prayers from Saeed Al-Ghamdi, invocations and inspirational message from Ahmad Peradilla, followed by the oath of sportsmanship conducted by Ali Lumanog and special messages from selected guests including Mohammed Al-Sobhi of JDC and Faiz Sahli of the Mandoubiyah group. Al-Sobhi and Faiz Sahli presented the award for best uniform to Khalediyah Aces.

During the games, Islamic materials were distributed and gift items handed out for best play, three-points, and most valuable player of the game. The main highlight of the program was the shahadah and acceptance of Islam by four new Muslim brothers.

In the first game, the Khalediyah Aces easily won against the Sadik Team 126-94. SCECO Team defeated MODA Al-Ghamdi Team 81-64 in the nightcap.
