RIYADH: Al Majma’ah scored a thrilling last-ball win over Diriyah in a second round match of the Champions League cricket tournament organized by the Riyadh Cricket Association and Cricket Saudi International.

In the other matches, Al-Kharj got the better of Huraymala by 38 runs and Dirab routed Hayer by 9 wickets.

In the best match of the day, Diriyah put on board 198 for 7. Qaiser Hussain (56), Waseem Riaz (45) and Shoaib (37) were the main contributors. Abdul Qadir, Abdul Wahab, Saif and Dawood took a wicket each.

In reply Al Majma’ah achieved their target off the last ball. Abdul Qadir Khan scored a match winning unbeaten innings of 71 runs. Hamza Abbasi (31) and Farooq Hassan (29) later steered their team to victory. Javed Aslam and Anis Ali Khan grabbed 3 wickets each.

In another match, Al-Kharj batted first after winning the toss and posted 193 for 3. Captain Nadeem Baber displayed his class by scoring an unbeaten 93 runs. Fahad (35) and Muzaffar (26) propped up the innings. Zeeshan and Imran Younes got a wicket each. Huraymala after a bad start were never in the race and kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were bundled out for 155 runs. Asif (49), Obaidullah (23) and Obaid (20) were the only batsmen who put up fight. Muzaffar did most of the damage and claimed 6 for 12. Imtiaz, Shakeel and Ayaz took a wicket each.

Later, Hayer League’s decision to bat first backfired as they were bowled out for 112. Rustam Faiz (34) and Ishaq (17) were the main scorers. Raja Gulraiz and Adnan picked up 2 wickets each.

In reply, Dirab’s openers went into the attack right from the start as Nasir Abbasi (53) and Waseem Jutt (52 not out) demolished the rival bowling to win the match in the 9th over.
