JEDDAH: Ace Travel lifted the Premier League Cup for the third year in a row when they ruthlessly thrashed Tamer by 10 wickets in the final of the Ace Travel sponsored tournament organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.

The Travelmen bundled out Tamer for 117 runs and then later flogged the bowling side to achieve their target in only 5.5 overs without losing a wicket. Mouzam (85 not out) and Abdul Wahid (34 not out) were in prolific form as the sent the Tamer bowlers on a leather hunt to all parts of the ground.

Earlier, Tamer won the toss and were bowled out in the last over of their innings for 117 runs. Javed (16), Afroz (24), Irfan (19) and Anwar (16) were the only batsmen to enter double digits while the others just succumbed to the left arm spin of Faheem Pasha who ripped through the rival batting lineup as he bagged 5 for 15. Shahid and Sami picked up a wicket each.

In the semifinals Ace Travel fought hard for their four-wicket win over G-BEST (IDB). In the other semi, Tamer edged past Sindh XI by 11 runs.

Tamer 187 for 6: (Irfan 78, Amjad 49; Salman 2 for 40, Hassan 2 for 31) beat Sindh XI 176: (Jawwad 41, Munawwar 29, Shakeel 24, Adnan 4 for 20, Amjad 2 for 34 Afroz 2 for 15) by 11 runs.

After the match, present during the prize distribution ceremony were Syed Mohiuddin and Mubashir Hussain from Ace Travel. Mohiuddin was grateful to JCA for giving them an opportunity to sponsor the league for the 6th consecutive year and assured them of the management’s support in the future.

JCA later thanked the Ace Travel management for their encouragement and continuous support for JCA cricketing activities and having agreed to be the main sponsor for first edition of the SPL T20.

Man-of-the-final: Mouzam of Ace Travel and Faheem Pasha.

Best Batsman: Mohammed Ayazuddin Irfan (770 runs)

Best Bowler: Shakeel of Sindh (18 wickets).

Best All-rounder: Shakeel on Sindh (240 runs & 18 wickets)

The Ace Travel management gave a special cash award to captain Parvez Khan for exemplary leadership skills in leading the team to their 3rd consecutive title win.
