JEDDAH: Three matches were played in the Western Province Cricket Association Premier Division cricket league with Hala Friends, Dopco Stars and Pepsi Deccan Knights scoring comfortable wins.

In the Afternoon League, Hyundai, AMI Juffali, Hala White, Hala International School, Azizya Elegant and Al-Mabani had it their way with easy victories.

Hala Friends downed Lothers-XI by 24 runs. Hala Friends piled up 184 for 9 as Hassan Malik top-scored with (41). Niaz (25) and Zeeshan (41) were the other run getters. Yasir took 4 for 27, Taha 2 for 25 and Daini 2 for 48. In reply, Lothers began well as Khurram Aziz scored a quick-fire 68 off 36 balls. He added 73 with Yasar (23) and 50 with Dany Anthony (23) to take the team to 123-2. Saleem (3 for 17) and Ali (3 for 33) had the last laugh and bowled them out for 160.

Al-Ghamdi Cricket Stars lost to Dopco Stars by 6 wickets. Al-Ghamdi was bowled out for 139. Ali Ansar smashed 65 off 45 balls. Afzal Saleem took 5 for 24, Nadeem 2 for 21. Shahbaz Rasheed and Kamran bagged a wicket each. Dopco reached 141 for 4 off 103 balls as Shahbaz Rasheed compiled 74 off 41 balls and Afzal Saleem 34. Usman Ashraf took 2 for 5.

Pepsi Deccan Knights defeated Islamic Development Bank by 2 wickets. IDB posted 180 for 7. Zeeshan Soherwardy (41), Riyaz Mohammed Khan (34), Yasser (34 not out) and Farooq (31) were the main scorers. Akbar scalped 3 for 36, Abdulrehman 2 for 35.

Pepsi Deccan Knights scored 181 for 8. Athar Abdulquddus powered 67 off 33 balls. Riyaz scalped 3 for 32.

In the Afternoon League, Hyundai thrashed Pak Eagles by 9 wickets. Pak Eagles posted 136 for 7 through Zahoor (45), Hazarat Ali (25) and Shabbir (25). Fahim bagged 2-24. Hyundai achieved 137-1 in 80 balls. Wahaj was the architect of the win as he remained unbeaten on 82 off 45 balls. He added 80 with Irfan Ayazuddin (33) and then 57 with Ayaz (10).

AMI Juffali downed APF by 8 runs. AMI Juffali piled up 170 for 8. Shuboor remained unbeaten on 70 as he added 54 with Sanam (18). The team initially was in trouble on 66 for 5. Rafi Gujjar made 29. Irfan claimed 3 for 26 and Murtuza 2 for 20. APF, in reply, fell short by 8 runs to be stranded at 162 for 9. Hasanat hit 53 and Irfan 36. Rafi Gujjar claimed 2 for 25 and Najam Uzbak 2 for 28.

Hala Academy defeated Fuchs Alhamrani by 59 runs. Hala White racked up 246 for 3. Amir Sajjad hit 100 off 51 balls (6 sixes and 10 boundaries) and skipper Furquan 45 as the two added 82. Later Shahid mesmerized the audience with 6 sixes and 5 fours to remain unbeaten on 82 off 32 balls as he stitched 143 for the 3rd wicket. Fuchs Alhamrani, in reply, could manage only 187-5 as Nasir Khan hit 54, Abdulgafour 38, Khoban 25 and Nazaish 38 not out. Ibrahim claimed 2 for 25 and Furquan 2-21.

Al-Mabani humbled Adil Tasaan by 59 runs. Mabani plundered 206 for 6 as Asghar Khan hit 47, Khanwaez 40 not out, Adnan 30, Aijaz Khan 30 and Naeem 22. Shakeel took 2 for 46. Adil Tasaan was restricted to 147 for 7 as Zahoor scored 26, Waseem 23, Abdulrehman 23, Ali 20 and Mustafa 20. Usman claimed 2 for 22.

In other matches Elaf Advance lost to Hala International School by 6 wickets and Zultrack trounced Azizya Elegant by 6 wickets.
