JEDDAH: Alfa Moe Yasser enjoyed a rare triple double — 3 Team of the Week awards and 3 Bowler of the Week accolades to match — in mighty display during the 17th session in the OSN-FTBJ 50th Open Conference bowling tournament at the Bowling City here.

Alfa Moe was far and away the best on this Saturday night with 43.5 points. A distant second was Habagat on 36, half a point ahead of Xtreme Taurus 35.5 and two clear of Bank AlJazira Fawri 34.

Sky Freight-OSN tied on 30 points with D’Barkads followed by BCT-Lutong Pinoy on 24. Masaken and MC Hammer likewise tied on 23 points while coming in as the last three teams on the night were Red Dragons 12, GBI-TBBGI 11 and Al Murjana 10.

Cesar Monares raised his game a notch to shoot the high series of 707 and become the Bowler of the Week for an Alfa Moe double. Teammates Nonie Yap and Danny Bautista clinched the individual honors to match Alfa Moe’s other awards during the 8th and 11th weeks.

Monares shot games of 223, 205 and 267 to lead the Alfa Moe charge that saw Yap and Obie Ycasas hit 636 and 618 in a solid backup job. Team manager Yasser Al Hokbi, Rally Zamora and Bautista each chipped in with two games of 185-232, 198-201 and 201-195 in that order for Alfa Moe, which figured in tie for fourth and fifth places with Xtreme Taurus on 8.5 points in the second game.

Habagat, still to land a Team of the Week plum, drew 633 and 588 from Rommel Cagampang and George Mangaliman while getting two games contributions from Richard Antonio 223-212, Med Ramos 211-200 and Edu toledo 222-160.

The trio of Reggie Mendoza, Edwin Ronquillo and Raul delos Reyes struck hardest for Xtreme Taurus on 653, 624 and 606. Jimmy Urbano at 570 was the other player to roll a series for Taurus while Alex Flora carded 174-212 and Joel Nidoy had 232.

Over at AlJazira Fawri four players in the rotation crossed the 600 series mark namely Lorenz Santos 625, Luis Luna 611, Atoi Cruz 606 and Randy Mata 604. The other scorers were Francis Guron 159-193 an Ariel Urquia 224.

Amro Al Amri was the top scorer at D’ Barkads on 676 followed by Romy Bunagan 598 and Leo Edejer 581.
