Paolo Allego and Evelyn Santoc are to defend their titles when they bowl against fellow Damayan members in the Kalayaan Cup tournament as part of the Philippine Independence Day celebrations tomorrow.

The tournament at Bowling City is an individual competition with the format of the FEDBG monthly tournament and supported by Orient Provision Trading Company through Brand Manager Robert Bato.

Allego won the title when he broke through the domination of Ed Sardiña who, after a searing 219, was rattled on the ultimate game.

Santoc, with a determined endgame charge of 232, shared the crown with Carmen Lim at 402-all. Allego took last year’s championship at 405 two-game series narrowly beating Jett Santos who had a 402 after a strong 227 endgame. Sardiña ranked third at 386 and Fred Cuenca fourth at 357.

Sally Sañosa (368) and Nurisa Ramos (330) were the other winners at third and fourth behind Santoc and Lim.

Roll-off time is 8 a.m. and the Bowling City gates will open at 7:30 a.m.

Champions and runners-up of this FEDBG-organized Kalayaan Cup will receive cash prizes and Makati Food grocery packages. Also expected to see action are titlists Melvin Lising, Bobby Baraquel, Elo Manalo, Emil Payongayong, Jimmy Aragones, Rolly Vistal and perfect gamer Joel Nidoy. Rudy Jamon, Edris Mangoda, Med Ramos, Ver Jasa, Nards Hassan, Ester Santoc, Eloisa Fernandez, Mariz Resano, Aisah Silabay and Malou Nidoy will also pit skills against the top contenders.
