Archie & Company netted a big fish for a victim as it led a charge by the underdogs to claim Team of the Week honors during the third session in the OFBC 4 + 1 Friday Afternoon League Season 3 at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

Archie & Company was only 2 points shy of the perfect score as it collected 26 total win points after shutting out defending champion Red Dragons 20-0 in a stunning reversal that rocked the young tournament.

Archie Alcantara’s team carded total pinfalls of 2,185 for rank points of 6 while Red Dragons returned 2,087 that was worth 4 rank points.

Carlos Sports Wear hammered out a crushing 16-4 victory over The Replacement 2 on total pinfalls of 2,134-2,039, rank points of 5-3 and total win points of 21-7.

The top rank points of 8 belonged to another underdog, Pairs & Spares, after it rolled total pinfalls of 2,256 in a 10-10 draw with back-to-back Team of the Week RTJ Transient House which compiled total pinfalls of 2,203 for rank points of 7. Pairs ended up with total win points of 18 and RTJ 17.

Curiously, the Pairs-RTJ matchup produced the session’s men’s and ladies Bowler of the Week in Pairs skipper Jhune Estefano and Malou Nidoy who fired 591 and 582 respectively.

In the other match, The Youngsters Revival was a big 18-2 winner over D’ Luf’s Strikers.

The victory gave Youngsters the third-best total win points of 20 with total pinfalls of 1,963 for 2 rank points, while D’ Luf’s had 1,750 for 1 point and total win points of 3.

Fuly S. Primo, a jolly lady bowler who can still give most young bowlers half her age a run for their money, led the Archie charge on 561. Alcantara backed his Mommy Fuly on 556 with Jun Baculod on 524.

Mar Ilagan had 148-169 and Lito delos Reyes made 191 to complete Archie & Company’s scoring.

Carlos Sports Wear got a boost from the trio of Jameel Gabrera, Rosalie Vallejos and Carling Constantino who shot 540, 531 and 518 in that order. Gino Vallejos contributed 142-170, while team captain Vovstone and Louie Pacia each had one-game share of 154 and 167.

Over at Youngsters Vic Gonzales was the main man on 552 with mother-daughter Vangie and Carms Lim on 452 and 461. Sharing the team’s remaining three games were Ryan Okol 147-121 and skipper Toto Lim 158.

Besides Estefano Mia Cedotes and Conrad Baltazar also did well on 578 and 534. Akang Victorino tossed in 137-149 and Alona Antinero chipped in 149.
