Another Texas Scramble format competition takes place on Saturday when over a hundred golfers tee it up for the Birst Middle East Golf Tournament at Dirab Golf & Country Club.

The event with an 8 a.m. shotgun start follows the First Annual Crescent Moon Night Open Golf Tournament, a four-person Texas Scramble.

Open for all club members and guests, the Birst tourney is a two-ball Texas Scramble sponsored by Associare. Players will receive a goody bag of Cutter & Buck shirt, cap, and a sleeve of Callaway balls at the registration booth.

Dirab Ladies Fun Tournament

Meantime, the Dirab Ladies Group marked the end of its activities for 2013 with a fun tournament on Wednesday sponsored by Courtyard Marriott Riyadh Diplomatic Quarter Hotel and Dirab Golf & Country Club.

The group meets again in January next year to continue its wraparound 2013-2014 season.

The team of Cherry Williamson, Cindy Clark and Chris Burchner won the Texas Scramble format event wit a net score of 48 from a gross total of 67 and 19 handicap.

Taking the runner-up position was the pair of Sile McIlroy and Wendy McLaughlin who had a net score of 54 from 67 gross and 13 handicap.

Madele Burger won the prize for longest drive and Williamson was the closest to the pin prize winner.
