Bowling City rebounded in a big way from a quiet display in its last outing to clinch Team of the Week honors during the sixth session in the Thursday League 12th Conference for Mobily Cup at the Bowling City in Sultanah Center here.

Bowling City trotted out the top tally of 34 points in a big leap to its modest total of 23 pointgs on another night where the Team of the Week winner dominated the field.

Seven points adrift in second place was D’ Barkads 27 followed by Al Kabeer Frozen Foods 25, Habagat 20 and Lifebuoy 18.

Advance Co. pooled 17 points in sixth place with Al Murjana, the previous week’s winner, on 16. Bulacan Knight and Jeddah 5KKB were the last two teams to check in on 14 and 9 points.

The individual race for Bowler of the Week was won by Sami Al Qarni who rolled the high series of 727 on scratch games of 248, 208 and 256 and in the process completed a Bowling City double.

Leauge-leading Bowling City bowled remarkably well right from the start and surrendered just two points for the top place in the second game to be denied a perfect score of 36.

Archie Santos and Yousuf Al Juhani made sure Al Qarni’s effort doesn’t go to waste by shooting solid rounds of 612 and 609, while veteran Cris Villavelez along with Ruben Grino and Frank Afurong contributed two games each. Villavelez carded 316-246, Grino 176-183 and Afurong 167-202.

D’ Barkads had Leo Edejer notching the top score of 643 to go with the 594, 566 and 545 by Bing Amolo, Rudy Valenzuela and Dan Ednave in that order. Romy Bunagan added two games of 197-161 and Rey Beltran had 191.

Mohd. Al-Amri and Igna Salgado were among those to cross the 600 series mark on 643 and 621 at the helm of Al Kabeer, which also netted 588 from Jowett Carrion and 544 from Gerry Mandanas. The other contributions came from Bandar Al Dosary 166-150 and Jay-R de Dios 171.

Habagat likewise produced two players topping 600 in Richard Antonio and Geo Mangaliman who shot 656 and 620. Hadi Pache made 523 as the other player to go the distance while Rommel Cacampang contributed 175-186, Edris Mangoda 166-157 and Manny Tibay 165-166.
