RIYADH: As the year draws to an end, Nofa Golf Resort mounts another major event on Saturday when the Castrol Golf Tournament 2015 sponsored by Alkhorayef Lubricant Company tees off.

The tournament comes on the heels of the successful 2nd Annual Riyad Bank-Nofa Golf Tournament 2015 which Englishman David Appleyard won on Nov. 6.

This Saturday’s tournament is a two ball Texas Scramble format competition with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Seventy-eight players have confirmed so far and entries are still open, according to Golf Club Manager Nishad Mohd. Kunju.

In addition to the major events, Nofa is looking to organize a year-round monthly medal tournaments in 2016 for the benefit of the members and the golf community in Riyadh. To welcome the new year is the January Monthly Medal sponsored by Al Falwa Concrete Ltd. on Jan. 23, according to Kunju.

Owned by Prince Sultan bin Mohammed bin Saud Alkabeer, the Nofa Golf Resort inside the Nofa Resorts complex is located some 85 kilometers west of Riyadh along the new Makkah highway.
