GLASGOW: Celtic thrashed St. Mirren 5-0 away on Saturday to secure a fourth straight win in the Scottish Premier League, maintaining its position at the top of the standings.

Neil Lennon’s side warmed up for a Champions League match at Spanish giant Barcelona on Tuesday by taking a four-goal lead by the break, with Victor Wanyama’s brace adding to goals by Gary Hooper and Efe Ambrose.

Tony Watt’s late header completed the victory, ensuring the defending champions cannot be displaced at the summit ahead of second-place Hibernian’s match at Ross County later Saturday.

Lennon says “we were magnificent, every one of them. Good attitude, good tempo to the game, clinical in front of goal.”
