Ranking No. 5 on Day 1 wherein Fine Boys led, Ekis-6 persevered to reached the top on the fifth week despite competition from Pin Crushers, Cool Guys, BCT Mongoose and Micah’s Pride.

Pin Crushers’ two solid blows caused Ekis to slide a notch down on the 6th and 7th weeks, but reclaimed driver’s seat with a mighty 8th session display and never looked back. Now team chief Ernie Geslani and his charges are the first finalist with aggregate totals of 71029 at the end of two rounds in the FEDBG-FMBL 15th Conference at the Bowling City here.

With Zaldy Bacero, who averages 213 in 54 games, at the helm, Ekis-6 survived Pin Crushers threat on the 19th week and edged ahead by 191 pins (67614-67423), at the top thanks to the prolific contributions of Rey Beltran, Faisal Relativo, Jimmy Mandingiado, Rommel Marasigan, Malou Gime, Alma Bacero, Eugene Delfin, Alex Flora and Geslani.

Joining No. 1 Ekis in the stepladder finals are qualifiers Pin Crushers, Cool Guys, Lance & 3rdy. The last stepladder spot will be determined in a shootout among Micah’s Pride, Hal Falcons, BCT Mongoose, Crystal HQ, Shawly Still Solid and Fine Boys (FB) Rhinos.

Pin Crushers qualified for the stepladder matches with accumulated pinfalls of 70749 with team Chief Jay Bengco averaging 193 in 60 games.

Cool Guys climbed from 5th on the 15th week to third place with total pinfalls of 70340 on the patient motivation and guidance of team captain Jun de Dios with an average of 175 in 48 games, second to Rene Punzalan with 187 in 38 outings.

Inspired by Ric Reformado and team manager Evelyn Santoc, Lance & 3rdy made the cut to claim the fourth and last berth with 70115. Reformado averaged 201 in 54 games.

The 20th week of the tournament was topped by Cool Guys with 3636 team output and the individual honorees were Mhon Laxama and Eloisa Fernandez who rolled 660 and 597 in leading Hal Falcons and BCT Mongoose.

Mark Punzalan recorded another personal best of 60 for his second special honor as the youngest league member.
