DAMMAM: Friends XI got the better of Madina Diamonds by 38 runs in the 2nd Natco Cup cricket tournament, organized by the Madina Cricket Association, here.

Friends took strike first and put on board 171 runs in the allotted 20 overs.

Imran top-scored with 45 runs followed by Zubair 36, Zohaib 25 and Ahmed 22.

In reply Madinah Diamonds failed to achieve the target and lost the game by 38 runs. Sajid with 66 runs was the only batsman who put up some resistance while the others failed to put up a fight.

Zubair bagged 3 wickets while Ahmed and Imran got 2 each.

In another match, Airport XI crushed Shaheen by 9 wickets. Shaheen scored 104 runs in allotted overs. Rizwan was the highest scorer with 44 runs. Talha got 20. Asad destroyed the rival batting line and bagged 5 wickets in his quota of four overs. In reply Airport easily achieved the target for the loss of one wicket. Aamir top-scored with 63 runs.

Elsewhere, United Stars put up 133 runs against Pepsi Medinah Group. Shafique (31) and Nizam (17) were the main scorers.

Mohammed Amir claimed 5 wickets while Asif bagged 4.

In reply Pepsi reached their target off 19 overs. Aamir scored 31.

Saudi Oger registered a 66-run win over Shaheen.

Captain Azher led from the front with 46 runs. Sajid (45), Waseem (26) and Atique (25) were the scorers in Saudi Oger’s total of 198 runs. Aamer, Talha and Qasim share 6 wickets.

In reply Shaheen was bundled out for 131 runs. Aqeel and Sajid got three wickets each for the bowling side.
