It was on Aug. 29, 2010 when Mohammad Amir was caught in spot fixing in England and got 5-year ban from International Cricket by the ICC tribunal. On

28th Jan. 2015, Amir was cleared to play domestic cricket in Pakistan and in September, he was declared to play all forms of cricket.

Few ex- and current cricketers showed reservations for allowing Amir back into the squad for the upcoming NZ tour.

They believe Amir brought shame to Pakistan's image and such a character will be an embarrassment to the current squad. Two current senior players Hafeez and Azhar (ODI captain) went far to an extent that they boycotted training camp due to the inclusion of Amir.

Amir deserves to be back if only for the fact that he was only 18 when charged with spot fixing. Also, he admitted the offense and showed remorse unlike senior players Asif and Salman (other two offenders). Not to forget that he did in fact apologize to the nation, cricket board and players on more than one occasion. Finally, Amir picked up a staggering 84 wickets in 23 matches since his comeback.

Taking the aforementioned reasons into consideration plus a dire need of a wicket-taking bowler in the bowling line-up, Amir should be representing Pakistan in the International arena without any further fuss.

Many bowlers have been tried and tested during his absence, some delivered to an extent, but none are as talented as Amir.

Many polls have been conducted on numerous news portals and all favors Amir’s inclusion in the team.

A bowler who was to be crowned ICC emerging player of the year back in 2010 but got disqualified due to spot fixing has all the qualities to become a leading wicket taker in Pakistan’s cricket history.

Still 23 years of age and oozing with phenomenal talent, the team, the fans and the country need him more than ever. It would be a disservice to the game of cricket if Amir were not allowed to don the Pakistani colors.
