JEDDAH: In an exciting final on Thursday, Islamic Corporation for the Development of Private Sector (ICD) beat IDB Operations by 19 runs to win back-to-back titles in the IDBG Intra Entity Cricket Tournament 2016 at IDB cricket ground on the outskirts of Jeddah. The match was sponsored by Staff Social Club.

IDB Operations captain Abdullah Shah won the toss and put ICD to bat first. ICD compiled a decent total of 107 runs in the allocated 10 overs courtesy of Mohd. Raziuddin who scored 35 runs and a cameo at the end by Hamza Hashmi scoring 20 runs off 4 balls by hitting three consecutive sixes in the last over.

Chasing 108 runs to win, IDB Operations suffered while chasing, as it was not able to score boundaries regularly, eventually falling short of target at the end by 20 runs. Mohd. Shoaib was the highest scorer for Operations on 32 runs. For ICD Asif, Hamza and Hashim bowled well by not allowing the batsman to score runs.

At the presentation ceremony, ICD captain Asif and team manager Hussain Bahij were presented with the winner’s trophy by Asim Raza, Sayed Javed and Misbah (IDB Cricket Committee members). Also, the following awards were handed out: Best Batsman Omar Taufique,

Best Bowler Umar and Man of the Series Umar.
