JEDDAH: The inaugural Ace-Initial Saudi Premier League Twenty20 cricket tournament sponsored by Ace Travel- Initial Services Group and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association took-off at a ceremony recently.

A.A. Merchant, chief coordinator, welcomed JCA chairman Dr. Faiz Al-Abideen, representatives from sponsors and co-sponsors of the league, which included Shamshad Khan, Mohammed Afzal, Afzal A. Sheikh, Ismail Abdul Wahab, Syed Mohammed Noorie, Aiman Azim and Mir Murtaza Ali.

Members from other associations present at the event were, Jaweed Munawar, Haneef Babar (RCL), Sajid Mehmood (MCL), Syed Zahid Ali (MCA), Sameer Nidal Khan, Hamid Rana (My Care Hala Sports Clubs), and other guests.

The ceremony started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qu’ran. Merchant presented a brief report of JCA and details about the SPL. The SPL coordination committee includes Haroon Abdulla, A. A. Merchant, Akhtar Hussain and Syed Ashfaq Hussain. The grounds are prepared under the supervision of Aijaz Khan

Shamshad Khan and Mohammed Afzal appreciated the efforts of JCA and its committee members.

JCA Chairman Al-Abideen thanked the sponsors and the JCA executive committee. He also welcomed My Care Hala clubs under Nidal Khan and Hamid Rana.
