Jeddah is gearing up to host the first Jeddah Rally scheduled for Jan. 30 in Al Biraika area, north of Jeddah. The security committee for the 2014 Jeddah car rally toured the site for initial security checks and preparations. Hamoud Al Jabri, deputy director of Jeddah Rally, explained to the committee the details of each site as they visited the starting point and finish line of the rally route.

Al Jabri said that the last touch ups will continue to secure the routes for the drivers and participants. This is necessary because drivers face sandy, rocky and mountainous terrain as spectators enjoy the race.

Brigadier General Faiz Bin Mohammed Al-Shamrani participated in the tour alongside Brigadier General Faris Askar Al-Shebani, General Zaki Loqmani, General Omar Sultan, Major Badr Al-Suhaimi, Captain Hani Al-Nfaiei and Lieutenant Amer Al-Ghamdi. The officials visited Sharm Obhur and Biraika region where the Jeddah race will be held for two days.
