JEDDAH: Juniors Red of coach Sam Sabangan and assistant coach Angel Palaypayon defeated Yellow 78-73 in the FAME-Gensoul Basketball Tournament Season 3 here.

Red Team played their hearts out to defuse the offensive team in their division. Jehad Hadji Usman top-scored with 14 points to go with 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 6 block shots for the Red Team and was adjudged as the best player of the game.

FAME-Gensoul Basketball Tournament is under the leadership of Sabangan, Joel Silvestre, Edwin Gonzales (Tournament Commissioner), Nak Santiago, Andy Eslabon and Vicky Navarro.

Midget Black of coach Donald Dolloso beat Grey Team 68-58. Black Team played organized offense and hit the open man as per instruction of their coach. Justin Durante had 50 points, 11 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block shot for the Black Team and was adjudged as the best player of the game.

Seniors Black of Sabangan defeated Red Team 77-68. Alberto Aguirre scored 22 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal for the Black Team and was adjudged as the best player of the game.

Juniors Lion beat Eagle 78-65 in Gensoul All Star game 2. Prince Del Rosario top-scored with 17 points and had 7 rebounds and 2 steals for the Junior Lion and was adjudged as the best player of the game.

Seniors Eagle (Gensoul Staff) defeated Lion (Parents) 101-100 in game 2. Glenn Musngi had 33 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist for the Seniors Eagle and was adjudged as the best player of the game.

In Thursday games, Juniors Red beat Orange Team 77-54 to set up a weekend double in the semifinals. Red dominated the game in all departments. Jehad Hadji Usman led the Red Team with 17 points, 17 rebounds, 3 assists, 7 steals, 2 block shots and was adjudged as the best player of the game.

Juniors Yellow of Asst. Coach JJ Hernandez defeated Blue Team 77-74. It was a tight ballgame as both teams played hard on their offense and defense. Gerry Acosta scored 56 big points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block shot for the Yellow Team and was adjudged as the best player of the game.

Seniors Yellow beat White Team 86-75. Arwin Virtucio top score with 24 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assist and 1 steal for the Yellow Team and was adjudged as the best player of the game while Angel Palaypayon top score with 33 points for the Blue Team.

Midget Lion defeated Eagle 69-51. Edison Arellano chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals and 1 block shot for the Lion and was adjudged as the best player of the game.
