SEATTLE: South Korea’s Dae-Ho Lee hit a two-run, pinch-hit homer with two outs in the 10th inning, lifting Seattle over Texas 4-2 for its first win of the year at Safeco Field on Wednesday night.

The right-handed hitting Lee, who spent the last four years in Japan after 11 seasons in his home country, came on to bat for Adam Lind against left-hander Jake Diekman (0-1). Lee launched an 0-2 pitch deep over the left-field wall for his second homer.

Steve Cishek (1-1) pitched two innings.

Baltimore finally lost after opening the season with a team-record seven straight wins, beaten 4-2 on the road by the bats of Xander Bogaerts, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Boston.

The Orioles were the last undefeated team in the majors, ending their longest winning streak to start a season since moving to Baltimore in 1954. The franchise opened 9-0 in 1944 as the St. Louis Browns.

Bogaerts hit a two-run double and Bradley had a tiebreaking triple.

In Minneapolis, Carlos Rodon completed six scoreless innings and Jerry Sands hit a two-run home run as the Chicago White Sox kept Minnesota winless with a 3-0 victory.

At 0-8, the Twins have been outscored 33-13 this season. The only other winless team in the majors is Atlanta, also 0-8. The Twins beat the Braves in that epic seven-game World Series in 1991 — some 25th anniversary this season is turning out to be for the two teams.

The Braves also lost 3-0, at Washington, continuing their worst start to a season since 10 losses in 1988. Tanner Roark pitched seven innings to lead Washington to its fourth straight win.

The Braves were without outfielder Hector Olivera, who was placed on paid administrative leave by Major League Baseball after he was arrested and charged with assaulting a woman at a hotel outside Washington.

Kansas City’s Salvador Perez tagged reliever Ken Giles for a tiebreaking two-run homer in the eighth inning at Houston, lifting the Royals over the Astros, 4-2.

Giles (0-1) retired the first two batters in the eighth before walking Alex Gordon on a full count. Perez followed with a drive off the facade above the Crawford Boxes in left field. Giles has given up three home runs in four games. He was acquired from Philadelphia in the offseason after giving up a total of three homers in 113 games over the past two years.

John Lackey pitched into the seventh inning and Kris Bryant hit his first homer of the season as the Chicago Cubs matched the best eight-game start in franchise history with a 9-2 home victory over Cincinnati.

The Cubs improved to 7-1 for the first time since 1985 and just the 11th time overall. Jason Heyward drove in two runs with a two-out single in the third. Lackey (2-0) allowed two runs and six hits in 6 2/3 innings. He struck out seven and walked three.

In other games, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat visiting Arizona 3-1, Colorado beat San Francisco 10-6 in Denver, Cleveland won 4-1 at Tampa Bay, Detroit won at Pittsburgh 7-3, the Blue Jays won 7-2 against the New York Yankees in Toronto, the Mets won 2-1 at home to the Miami, the Los Angeles Angels won 5-1 at Oakland, Milwaukee won at St. Louis 6-4, and Philadelphia won 2-1 at home to the Padres.
