JEDDAH: Logistics raced to their 5th win while P&IP and Machinery recorded consecutive wins in the Kanoo Inter Division Six-a-side League.

The league is sponsored by Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group for the 19th year and co-sponsored by Maersk Sealand and AXA Insurance for its employees.

6th Match – MAERSK Vs P&IP

Maersk Lions elected to bat first but excellent bowling attack by Bashir and Najab of P&IP dismissed both openers but Ashfaq unbeaten 31 took Maersk Lions to a decent total of 48 runs. P&IP showed no mercy and raced to a win scoring 49 for with Razi Momin (16) and Liaqat (22) well-paced knocks.

7th Match – BDP VS TRAVELS

BDP batted first with Oliver (28) and Hameen (10) set a target of 62 runs in 5 overs. Vasvi picked a wicket and an excellent catch to restrict BDP. Travel chased it comfortably with Mubeen (28) his team to victory despite good bowling by Fahim and Hameen of BDP taking a wicket each.

8th Match – Logistics VS P&IP

Logistics batting first set a target of 74 runs thanks to Siras (17), Inshaf (30) and Wahid Khan (12). Bashir and Liaquat took a wicket each. The early loss of wickets restricted P&IP to chase the target and despite Liaqat’s unbeaten 25 and support of Bashir (12) Irfan (13 NO) P&IP were halted at 70.

9th Match – Logistics Vs Travels

Logistics with some lusty hitting by Zahir (20), Siras (24), Wahid (30NO) and Inshaf (13NO) fell one short of 100 in 5 overs. Yasas and Zubair took a wicket each. In reply Travel were bundled out for paltry 51 thanks to Siras (3 wickets) and Zahir (2 wickets) and brilliant fielding by Imran Sheradi taking an important catch at crucial juncture to dismiss Sunith and take Logistics to their 5th in the tournament.

10th Match – Machinery Vs Travel

Machinery managed to score only 48 all out as Yasas and Sunith picked up 2 and 1 wicket respectively. Travel confidence and winning dream was broken as they were bundled out for 39 runs as Vatshan (3 for 20) with support of Suresh and Imran a wicket each gave a 9 run exciting win to Machinery.

11th Match P&IP Vs Finance

Finance won the toss and elected to field, however Basheer thrashed them for a superb 82 with 8 sixes and 3 fours with support of Irfan (15) took P&IP to a massive 122 in just 5 overs which is the highest total in 5 overs this league. Finance could only manage 39 runs and P&IP registered their 2nd win.

12th Match – BDP Vs P&IP

BDP scored 59 in 5 overs with openers Fahim (12) and Oliver (13) in fine nick followed by Noman Khalil (10). Irfan (3 wickets) and Bashir (1 wicket) restricted them from accelerating further. P&IP fought well but were stalled due to fine bowling by Fahim (2 wickets) and Shyam 1 wicket. With 21 required in the last over and Irshad bowled tight giving only 6 runs and took his team to a well-deserved by 14 runs.

13th Match – Machinery Vs BDP

Superb batting by Vatshan (21), Indika (23) and Fahim (17) enabled Machinery to set target of 79 runs in just 5 overs. Fahim and Hameem took a wicket each. BDP had no answer to the tight Machinery attack and were bundled out for only 45 with Oliver (17) offering the lone fight back.
