JEDDAH: After a last-place finish in the last outing Masaken bounced back in a big way as it claimed a Team of the Week and men’s Bowler of the Week double during the 14th session in the FTBJ-ICBL Sky Freight Forwarders League at the Bowling City here.

Masaken hardly missed a beat in coming up with the top tally of 45 points that gave Rene Ocampo’s team its second award and in the process replicated a feat on the 9th week when Masaken also pulled a double with the lead to boot.

Rock n Roll finished 5 points adrift of the Team of the Week on 40 points with Hidada 7 points further back on 33. Al Murjana pooled 32 points ahead of league-leading Sadafco 30.

Sky Freight-OSN and Sagmit Dental Clinic tied on 29 points followed by ICBL Mix Insert 18, Par Excellence 17 and D’ Barkads 16. Ceebee Aviation and Steelers brought up the rear on 14 and 9 points.

George Mangaliman set up a Masaken double when he rolled the high series of 681 on lines of 191, 234 and 193 to become the Bowler of the Week on the men’s side.

Zaldy Bacero along with wife Alma and Jeanette Cerbito backed up Mangaliman. Zaldy hot 657, Alma had 628 and Cerbito added 556. Paolo Allego conributed 565 in the Masaken five-man team rotation.

Rock n Roll, the third game winner and seventh week honoree, drew solid numbers from Daryl Loquias 659, Faisal Relativo 625, Lenlen Berina 557 and Malou Gime 540. Rom Cagampang tallied 227-186 and Ruben Grino made 210.

Leading the way at Hidada was Amro Al Amro who tossed in 600 that went with the 584 by Cesar Monares, 576 by Pinky Acato, 566 by Grace Siasoco, 215-172 by Nonie Yap and 188 by Nanding Siasoco.

Over at Murjana six players were in the rotation and at the helm was Jess Pineda on 607. The mother-and-daughter tandem of Susan and Sharmaine Patayan carried the load from the distaff side on 595 and 548. Richard Manaog compiled 550 while Nap Patayan had 212-214 and Steve Fragata 177.

Spearheaded by Andy Yumena 648 and Majid Aslani, Sadafco won the first game but finished poorly (11th in 3rd and last game), as it goes into the 15th week trying to protect a lead now under siege by Masaken.

Marie Gumpal and Malou Nidoy shot 522 and 508 for Sadafo that also received 180-195 from skipper Igna Salgado and 214 from Jimmy Urbano.

From the ranks of Skyfright-OSN came the ladies Bowler of the Week in Imelda Sayago who scored 648 to go with the 610 by Goying Salazar, 606 by Oca Bernabe, 172-197 by Bonnie Garcia, 179 by Atoi Cruz and 478 by Babes Tiongson.
