JEDDAH: Tariq Mehmood’s all round performance enabled My Care Hala to storm into the premier division final when they got the better of Crown Steel by 4 wickets in the Western Province Cricket Association-organized tourney.

In the SCC Afternoon Cup, Hala Academy White, Nestle Milo, Limitless, Hyundai, Hala School, MBCC, UCC and Al Mabani have qualified for quarters for the quarterfinals.

Crown Steel batted first and put on board 193 for 9. Kashif top-scored with 82 runs. Abid Naseem (40) and Abu Huraira’s unbeaten 39 were the main scorers. At one stage the Steelmen were reeling at 89 for 4. Tariq Mehmood 3 for 36 and Jameel 2 for 23 did most of the damage.

In reply My Care Hala achieved their target with 3 balls to spare. Tariq Mehmood (67), Abdul Majeed (47) and Amjed ‘s (40 not out) were instrumental in their team’s victory. Shoaib Ali grabbed 3 for 48. The other semifinal will be between Dopco Stars and AOT.
