JEDDAH: MHA and Jawar Al-Jazirah will cross swords in the Jeddah Cricket Association-organized Reel & Rom League cricket final.

In the semifinals MHA scored a resounding 103 runs win over Natco while Jawar Al-Jazirah scored an equally convincing 86-run win over Hyderabad Green.

MHA batted first and put up an imposing score of 236 all out. Zia led the onslaught with a brilliant 76 of 33 balls. Giving him good support in fruitful partnerships were Jafar who scored a stylish quick fire 56 off 21 balls while Yusuf chipped in with 39 runs. For Natco Munawwar bowled a tight spell and claimed 4 for 22 while Hussain and Aashiq picked up 2 wickets each for 33 and 36 runs respectively.

In reply Natco just did not have a strategy against the accurate MHA bowlers and were bundled out for 133 runs off 16.1 overs. Adil removed the openers taking 2 for 16 while Zakir (3 for 3) and Zia (2 for 5) swallowed the lower order with a fine spell of bowling. Shaad and Ghafoor gave good support and claimed one wicket each.

Natco’s Adnan fought a lone battle and scored 50 with some support from Hussain (16), Majid (15), Zahid (13) and Chand (12).

In the other semis, Jawar Al-Jazirah started well as Asim scored an elegant 67 off 28 balls. Shaan Manzoor made a stylish 56 while Adil propped up the innings with 20 off 18 balls. Amir was the pick of the bowlers and took 3 for 47 while Zaheer, Furqaan, Babar and Amir Walah picked up a wicket each to restrict Jawar Al Jazirah to 227 for 8 in 20 overs.

In reply Hyderabad Green were bundled out for 141 runs off 17.5 overs. Mohammad Zahid (4 for 33) and Shaan Manzoor (3 for 21) bowled a deadly spell and made things difficult for the Hyderabad Green batsmen. Adnan and Shehzad picked up a wicket each as Jawar Al-Jazirah won handsomely. The win, which helped them enter their second consecutive final.
