CHICAGO: Antti Raanta made 26 saves in his first NHL shutout and Brandon Saad scored as the Chicago Blackhawks beat Los Angeles 1-0 on Monday night and sent the Kings to their first three-game losing streak in a year.

With Blackhawks No. 1 goalie Corey Crawford nearing a return from a lower-body injury, Raanta improved to 10-1-3 while bouncing back from one of his worst performances. He allowed two late goals in Chicago’s 6-5 shootout loss at St. Louis on Saturday.

Saad netted the only goal in this one in the first period. Chicago, which leads the NHL with 158 goals, played its lowest-scoring game since a 2-1 shootout win at Dallas on Nov. 29.

Los Angeles’ Martin Jones made 29 saves in his second straight loss after beginning his career with eight consecutive wins, tying the NHL record. Predators 6, Red Wings 4 The Predators, getting two goals and an assist from center Colin Wilson, beat the Detroit Red Wings in a back-and-forth game.

Nick Spaling gave Nashville a 3-1 lead in the second quarter and they held off Detroit (18-14-9) in the third where each team scored three times.

The Predators (18-18-4) won their second successive game after they had snapped a five-game losing streak against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.

Senators 3, Capitals 1: Ottawa’s victory over the Washington Capitals marked the first time the Senators put together back-to-back victories since they claimed three successive wins in early November.

Kyle Turris scored the game-winner in the second period while Mika Zibanejad and Clarke MacArthur scored Ottawa’s other goals.

Senators goalie Craig Anderson allowed the game’s first goal to Washington’s Joel Ward, but then stopped 34 shots.

Flyers 4, Canucks 3 (SO) Philadelphia center Vincent Lecavalier scored the only goal in a shootout as the Flyers beat the Vancouver Canucks.

Brayden Schenn, with his first goal in 17 games, forced overtime for Philadelphia (19-16-4) with 46.8 seconds to play in the third period.

Steve Mason made 41 saves and denied the Canucks (23-11-7) in overtime and the shootout to preserve the victory.
