Rabya brought down Bahra Cable 77-75 in Game 3 of their best-of-three series to clinch the Inter-Company Bonafide Division A championship crown in the OFBL 5th Conference at the Timeout Sports Academy gymnasium on Television Street, Ghulail District on the outskirts of Jeddah.

After struggling early in the first quarter up to the 3rd quarter of the game Rabya regrouped to get its first taste of the lead at 72-70 in the fourth quarter.

But Bahra refused to end the match without a good fight, mounting what proved its last stand in the last 2 minutes.

Rabya, however, put down the uprising and got the win with a tight defense to prevent Bahra open looks at the basket including from rainbow territory.

The impressive performance by Rabya all tournament long has installed them as the team to beat in the upcoming 6th Conference which is set for a tentative opening on July 25.

Hallyn justified his selection as the MVP (Most Valuable Player) by leading Rabya with 22 points, the same tally by Salud, while Pino had 6 points.

Andales scored 32 points for Bahra. Gabiana added 13 points Mangubat 8 and Roman 7.

Named to the mythical five selection were Best Guards Salud and Romano, Best Forwards Eleuterio and Hallun and Best Center Penio.

In the other Friday Evening Division championship in Inter-Company Bonafide C, NRF roared past Fitaihi in the fourth quarter to pull off an 84-74 victory.

Mirorring its Game 1 win NRF never gave Fitaihi a chance to come close in the contest.

Acosta and Tapasan led NRF offense with 21 and 16 points respectively. They had significant support from De Vera and Kamatsu who each contributed 6 points. The losing team got 24 points from Gavino.

A representative from evening league sponsor City Max handed out the trophies during the awarding ceremony.

Tapasan was the MVP and Best Forward in the mythical five that included Best Guards Acosta and Gavino, Best Forward Totoy Acosta and Best Center Cabral.

Meanwhile, there will be three knockout championship games in the various categories in the Friday Morning League sponsored by Red Tag following last week’s results as follows: Red Tag defeated Yummy Yummy 88-78, Toyota Yaris downed Jamjoom Pharma. The third knockout game is between Jeddah Phoenix and Fireberks.

Mendoza 20 points, Chua 17, Giniza 17, and Sipat 15 were the leading scorers for Red Tag.

For Toyota Yaris, Arana tallied 17 points, Dorado added 13, Llamado and Mohammed 8 apiece and Borcegue 6. Jamjoom Pharma had Abulencia topscoring with 25 points followed by Rosero 12, Abella 9 and Temzon 9.
