The Riyadh Cricket Association’s (RCA) 2012-13 season took off with exhibition matches between RCA (Green) vs. RCA (White) and a 40-over match between President’s XI and RCA’s Patron XI last Friday.

The players were selected from the top-performers of last season.

Green beat White by 77 runs in a T20 encounter while in the other match, President’s XI got the better of Patron XI by two wickets at the RCA-2 ground.

Thirty-three teams will take part in this year’s league, divided into the Super, Premier-1 and Premier-2 divisions respectively. Addressing the players and team managers after inaugurating the new season, RCA President, Qadeer Mirza, emphasized on unity, discipline and to uphold best practices of the game.

RCA Senior Vice President Nasir Ali Khan in his address thanked all players, teams and sponsors and assured that RCA will strive hard to make 2012-13 season a more successful one.
