RTJ Transient House, Robert Stone and Randa De Guzman stole the show on opening day of the OFBC 4 + 1 Friday Afternoon League Season 3 at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

RTJ compiled the highest total win points of 26 to emerge Team of the Week while Stone of Carlos Sports Wear and De Guzman of D’ Luf’s Strikers were named the men’s and ladies Bowler of the Week after shooting their division’s high series of 596 and 570 respectively.

Curiously, RTJ achieved the first week’s top total by beating defending champion Red Dragons 18-2 in a rematch of the last season’s championship showdown. So outclassed were the Red Dragons their total pinfalls of 2,054 could only give them 4 rank points while RTJ had a maximum 8 rank points with 2,195 overall output.

Carlos Sports Wear and D’ Replacement, out to atone for a sputtering last few weeks in the last tournament, won decisively against Youngsters-2 16-4 and D’ Luf’s Strikers 14-6.

Coupled with rank points of 6 and 7 from total pinfalls of 2,109 and 2,125 Carlos and D’ Replacement ended the session on 22 and 21 total win points.

The other match between Archie & Company and Pairs & Spares ended in a 10-10 draw on total pinfalls of 2,035-1,939, rank points of 2 and 1 and total win points of 12 and 11.

RTJ’s ladies pair of Malou Nidoy and Kristhea Mae Busic took charge with solid rounds of 568 and 556. League commissioner Joel Nidoy and Mar Ilagan added 536 and 536 in RTJ’s encouraging start.

The Dragons, who seemed out of sync, wound up last on the day with 6 total win points. Tom Langa was the only player to do full games on 519 with the rest of the games shared among co-captain Bash Langa 167-177, Arman Gamboa 127-177, Cesar Pagtalunan 141-171 and Fatima Jintarat 127-156.

Rosalie Vallejos rolled 468 to back up Stone at Carlos Sports Wear with contributions also coming from Gino Vallejos 143-136, Jameel Gabrera 163-199 and Louie Paccia 148-136.

Alex Torres and Fedelyn Bustinera rolled 516 and 508 at the vanguard of Replacement. Team captain Khalid Bustinera tallied 155-162, Rudy Ramos tossed in 132-184 and Jhun Ejanda mae 134-190.

Archie & Company used a singled set of five players led by Fuly Primo on 533 and that also featured Hyett Ann Achai 513, Usman De Guzman 512 and Archie Alcantara 477.

Conrad Baltazar led Pairs on 523 followed by Jun De Dios 498 and Mildred Florentino 489.
