JEDDAH: Habagat refused to be written off as yet in the race for No. 1 when it delivered a performance worthy of a Team of the Week and Bowler of the Week double during the 11th session in the Sarawat Superstores Thursday Bowling League 13th Season at the Bowling City in Sultanah Center.

Two weeks after losing the lead to Al Murjana and being relegated to third place in the team standings by Sawary Energy, Habagat returned the top tally of 33 points with Rommel Cagampang doubling the joy for their team by claiming Bowler of the Week honors.

Sawary Energy had the second-best total of 31 points as it gained ground on league-leading Murjana, which could only muster 23 points.

D’ Barkads came through with 26 points while BCT-Hokbi Fashion made 24. Magnolia Ice Cream, Carling Sport Wear and AL Striker collected 17, 13 and 9 points in the tailend.

Sawary and Habagat traded place at first and second in the first two games to be level on points before the latter edged ahead in the third game and overall output.

Cagampang shot the high series of 698 as the best individual performer while at the helm of the Habagat charge that also contained 626 from Richard Antonio, 587 from Edriss Mangoda, 546 from Geo Mangaliman, 198-204 from Med Ramos and 147 from Ver Jasa.

Sawary, which shared honors with Murjana the previous week, had Jun Pamintuan at the top of the scoring ladder on 613 followed by Jess Pineda 578, and Alex Flora 569. Chipping in two games each were Edwin Ronquillo 224-199, Bash Langa 205-178 and Reggie Mendoza 230-209.

D’ Barkads used a six-man rotation with the trio of Dan Ednave, Rudy Valenzuela and Gerry Tano going the distance on 622, 619 and 602. Leo Edejer added 160-182, Romy Bunagan had 158-257 and Obie Ycasas tossed in 175-183.

Nezar Al Hamwi took charge at BCT-Hokbi on 609. Ding dela Rosa was 3 pins short of 600 on 597 while Nanding Siasoco tallied 590 as the third player to complete three-game series.
