JEDDAH: The Ace Travel league sponsored by Ace Travels and Tours and organized by JCA kicked off to a brisk start with new entrant Sindh XI outclassing the experienced Natco by 50 runs and Mazco trouncing Arcoma Crown by 8 wickets.

Ace Travel and Tours agreed to sponsor the JCA Premier Division league for the 6th straight year. JCA is grateful to the Ace Travel Group management in general and to Ashfaque’ Aleem, general manager; Mohammed Ali Jarrar, regional director; and Shamshad Khan, finance director; for their solid support to JCA cricket activities as part of their corporate social responsibility to encourage sports in general.

New entrant Sindh XI scored an impressive 195 for 6 wickets against the experienced Natco. Mohsin 39 of 29 balls (6 fours), Ali 55 of 28 balls (6 fours, 4 sixes) and Ayaz 44 (4 fours, 2 sixes) chipped in with useful contributions while skipper Humayun bowled well with 2 for 35 and was supported by Aqeel, Faheem and Faisal chipped in with a wicket each. In reply the Natco batsmen were rocked by some tight bowling of Aijaz who took 3 for 32, Ali 2 for 31, Mohsin 2 for 25 and Shakeel 1 for 21 as Natco were bundled out for 145 runs. Only Nazim 38 (4 fours, 1 six), Mustafa 45 (5 fours, 2 sixes,) Faheem (25) and Karam (27) offered resistance with their useful contribution but could not prevent Sindh XI winning by 50 runs

Arcoma Crown batting first got after the Mazco bowlers to rattle up 178 for 3 in 20 overs. Abid Pervaiz scored a brilliant 94 of 52 balls inclusive of 12 fours and 2 sixes. Ismail 47of 39 balls (5 fours, 1 six) gave him good support. Maqsood with 2 for 37 and Asif chipped in with 1 for 33. In reply Mazco knocked off the runs 182 for the loss of only 2 wickets with Faisal going after the bowling from the start and scored an exciting unbeaten 101 with 10 fours and 6 huge sixes. Waseem 25 (2 fours, 1 six) and Shoukat with an unbeaten 22 saw Mazco through as Pervaiz and Nabeel chipped in with a wicket each which went in vain for Arcoma.
