Taurus finally got to add a Team of the Week award to its five weeks run at the top of the team standings in the OFBC Friday Morning League 5+1 Season 3 at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

In true Taurus fashion this Raul delos Reyes-captained squad enjoyed a perfect double while picking up its first Team of the Week plum as it totaled 28 points during the eighth session of the tournament.

The double was courtesy of ladies Bowler of the Week Fedelyn Bustinera, as Taurus blanked The Pinbusters 20-0 on total pinfalls of 2,601-2,303 and rank points of 8 and 2.

Coming off the league’s second perfect grand slam the previous week, D’ RJ’s Cardinals returned the second best tally of 23 points scored against the bye team on automatic match points of 20, total pinfalls of 2,424 and rank points of 3.

D’ Luf’s Strikers brought down American Garden 12-8 on total pinfalls of 2,489-2,497, rank points of 5-7 and total points of 17-15.

In the other match, D’ Cyclone Star whipped Velocity Strikers 14-6 (1,728-2,496 4-6 16-14).

Bash Langa of Cyclone was the men’s Bowler of the Week after he shot the week’s high series of 574.

Bustinera scored 542 at the helm of the consistent Taurus, which pulled farther away from the chasing pack to start the last half of the double round robin eliminations. The trio of Jun Caisip, Ric Nangel and Regino Mendoza backed up Bustinera will three-game rounds of 479, 469 and 456, while Edwin Ronquillo added 179-201.

The Cardinals failed to cash in despite playing the bye team for a potential back-to-back honors with Ed Cordova leading the soring on 533. The two others to go the distance were Yeth Siohan Achai 450 and Ric Tibayan 430, while with two games each were Ricard Junio 170-174, Conrad Baltazar 145-162 and Rey Serrano 107-149.

Over at Luf’s the trio of Cesar Pagtalunan, Danny Atubang and Farida de Guzman showed the way on 514, 503 and 500. Sol Cuenca added 166-158 and Rommel Marasigan had 136.

Besides Bash the other scorers at Cyclone Star were Arman Gamboa 474, Fatima Jintarat 443, Robert de Guzman 151-149, Usman de Guzman 138 and Jack Jarin 167-144.
