BELGRADE: Yugoslavian football great Milan Galic has died aged 76 in Belgrade, Serbian press agency Tanjug reported on Saturday.

Galic, who scored 37 goals in 51 appearances for the then Yugoslavia from 1959 to 1965, won Olympic gold in 1960 and the same year scored in the inaugural European Championship final at the Parc des Princes but ended up losing 2-1 to the Soviet Union after extra-time.

On the club front Galic won four league titles and scored 165 goals for Partizan Belgrade from 1959-65 before moving to Belgium and Standard Liege (1966-70) with whom he won two Belgian league championships before finishing his career with a three-year spell at French outfit Reims.
