Al-Hilal won the Crown Prince Cup for the 11th time in the team's history and for the fifth time in a row after beating Al-Nasr in the final after penalty kicks at King Fahd international stadium in Riyadh on Friday.
After an entraining scoreless draw at full time the game turned in extra time when Nawaf Al-Abid was brought down in the box to give Hilal a chance to win the cup. Muhamad Al-Shalhoub made no mistake from the spot giving Hilal what seemed like certain victory. Nasr's Hassan Al-Raheb made sure that wasn't the case by equalized with a superb header, which the Hilal keeper couldn't keep out.
Penalties ensued after extra time as the game went to the wire. Hilal finally overcame Nasr 4-2 for a historic win.
Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, deputy premier and minister of defense, handed over the prized trophy to Hilal's captain Yasser Al-Qahtani.
Both teams hail from Riyadh and as expect the rivalry was intense with more than 60,000 fans attending.
