The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) launched an interactive competition on its Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts ahead of the Saudi National Day.
The contest, which is open to both Saudis and expats, requires participants to take a snapshot forming a heart shape with their hands.
Contestants can send their pictures to the “Live Saudi Arabia” hashtag.
“The program aims to boost patriotism, promote national unity and highlight real life cultural aspects,” said Hamad Al-Sheikh, SCTA vice-president for marketing and programs.
Al-Sheikh said contestants can submit more than one photo per day in order to maximize their chances of winning through entry into the draw as long as the pictures are of good-quality and distinct from the ones previously submitted.
SCTA has devoted a specialized team to sort through nominated photos and select the best samples before announcing the winners the following day, he added.
The winners will be given an iPhone 6 or two round-trip air tickets between two cities in the Kingdom, a move which will also help promote local tourism.
