NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold full bilateral talks with his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of a summit in the Russian town of Ufa on Friday.
The sources said the two leaders will meet for about an hour.
Modi and Sharif last met at the SAARC summit in Katmandu in November 2014, but did not hold formal talks.
Modi arrived in Ufa on Wednesday on a three-day visit to Russia. He will attend two key summits — the BRICS summit on Thursday and the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) summit on Friday which Sharif is attending too.
Modi held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday.
New Delhi is unhappy over Beijing’s support to Islamabad over the release of Mumbai attacks mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi.
