HALA/KARACHI: Amid much disorganization funeral prayers of senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Makhdoom Amin Fahim were offered on Saturday, Geo reported.

Fahim passed away at a private hospital in Karachi. The funeral prayers were attended by thousands of people, including party Patron-in-Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former Prime Minister Raja Parvaiz Ashraf as well as the leader of the opposition in the Parliament Khursheed Shah, Manzoor Wassan and others.

Fahim had been ailing for some time and had returned to Pakistan late last month to spend some time family and friends. He had been brought to Karachi via an air ambulance on Oct. 26.

Prior to his return, the senior leader and veteran politician had been receiving treatment in Germany, England and the UAE and in light of his deteriorating health he wished to return home to Pakistan for a few days, his spokesman Aslam Pirzada told reporters upon his return last month.
