All galleries in the Kingdom have recently agreed to join hands and form one platform to enhance Saudi art and the work of artists.

The galleries decided to unite as ‘United Saudi Galleries,’ under the patronage of the Ministry of Information and Culture, the Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts and the Saudi Fine Arts Association. This was made possible because of the initiatives of Arabian Wings.

Mohammed Bahrawi, founder of Arabian Wings, said his organization is delighted about the new union. “This is for our betterment and progress. Unity will bring strength,” he opined.

“Arabian Wings will sponsor United Saudi Galleries along with all its projects until it becomes well known and can stand on its own feet. As it grows from strength to strength its bond of unity will be sealed. This union will bring many excellent changes in the art world as well as the life of artists of Saudi Arabia. This is the beginning of a new era for Saudi art galleries,” he said.

Arabian Wings for Fine Arts is interested in plastic arts, sculptures, contemporary art and the development of youth, supporting them in different fields of art.

Bahrawi said Arabian Wings’ sponsorship of United Saudi Galleries would make it a financial, legislative, products, activity, and talent sponsor among others.

“We will work side by side with United Saudi Galleries and provide as much support as required for this unification as it is our social responsibility toward our artists and the world or art. Arabian Wings is a visual art company, an institute and inspiration to fulfill the dreams of Saudi Arabian artists,” he said.

He further said Arabian Wings brings a new ray of hope in the life of Saudi artists by providing them not only space for displaying art but also facilitate with educational training programs and scholarships for the best artists, lectures and workshops to anchor and develop the artists and youth.

He further reiterated that most art galleries have unions and are working together for the progress of art and artists, “We decided to unite to work for the benefit of Saudi art and artists. With this objective, we are taking the first initiative of this union to make the ‘Jeddah Art Week’ an annual event in the month of February, when all the galleries from around the Kingdom will assemble in Jeddah.”
