The benchmark Tadawul All-Share Index bucked the prevailing four-day negative trend and turned green with reasonable gains on Tuesday. It accumulated more than sixty points or 0.55 percent, closing just below the 11,000-mark.
Sectoral indices also closed the day up, adding an aggregate of 814 points. Agriculture and Transport sectors showed the best performance, growing by 1.45 percent and 1.09 percent respectively. Real Estate Development sector rose roughly one percent, closing at 7,093.45.
Most of heavyweights extended gains, with Etisalat Co. (Mobily) outdid rest of its peers, advancing 0.98 percent to SR 93.24. The bellwether SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corp.) rising near 4-year high gained 0.77 percent for the day.
Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners by a handsome margin of 103 to 42. Share price of AXA Cooperative Insurance rallied to a growth of 5.52 percent to SR60.35, clinching the spot as top gainer amongst Saudi stocks. It was fifth consecutive win of the company, reflecting an accumulation of 18.9 percent.
All most active stocks finished to the upside. Dar Alarkan Real Estate continued to dominate the trading activity, surging 4.67 percent. Its volume set sold about 78 million shares, a relative market share of 27.2 percent. Dar Al-Arkan also topped the value chart, pumping more liquidity (SR1.1 billion) into the market. The company volume went 3.6 times high over its 50-day average. Sahara Petro-chemical Co. volume increased more than double as compared to previous day, liquidating ten million shares.
Tadawul volume with trades over 287 million remained 8.3 percent greater than the 50-day average level. But liquidity went below the 50-day average value, recording a turnover of SR8.6 billion.
