Saudi Arabia’s benchmark Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) passed through a lean session Tuesday, shedding more than 48 points.

The index fell to 8,298.46 points, showing a reduction of 0.58 percent for the entire day. It performed within a trading range of 70.22 points yesterday. Its year-to-date yield still remained over twenty two percent.

The market cap indices all finished to the downside, with Med Cap going down by 0.91 percent. All sector indices closed in red, dropping an aggregate of 700 points.

Transport and Cement sectors were major decliners, falling 1.84 percent and 1.34 percent respectively. Multi-Investment sector suffered least losses comparatively, down 0.11 percent to close exactly at 4,000-mark.

Most of heavyweights slipped from previous day’s level, with Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) dipping by 0.89 percent, Saudi Electricity Co. 0.69 percent and Al-Rajhi Bank 0.67 percent.

The market breadth confirmed a bearish momentum, as out of 158 stocks traded Tuesday only 20 were able to close higher.

Share price of new player ANB Cooperative Insurance Company rallied to a maximum growth of 10 percent to SR 11, clinching the spot as top gainer amongst Saudi stocks.

On the other side of the spectrum, Fitaihi Holding Group suffered the greatest amount of damages, turning down 4.32 percent to close the day at SR15.5.

Tadawul volume with trades over 166 million shares remained 6.7 percent greater than previous level but still it was 13.4 percent lower than 50-day average.

A considerable amount of liquidity SR5.0 billion flowed into the market, an increase of 21.2 percent from the previous value.

The 50-day average for trading value is also closer to SR5.0 billion.

Jarir Marketing Company with a turnover of SR541.1 million appeared to be the most liquid stock, closing green at SR247.5.
