Despite a plunge of 95.4 points after the Monday’s opening bell, the Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) finished with a reasonable gain of 1.11 percent or 95.5 points, closing at 8,720.42.

Micro cap with three percent increment remained prominent among market cap indices. All sectors extended gains except Media and Publishing, which pared a couple of points merely. Remaining 14 sectors showed a collection of 1,985 points jointly.

Insurance outperformed among the sectoral indices, rising four and half percent to close the day at 1,503.88. Tourism and Multi-Investment were other significant advancing sectors, gaining over three percent for the day.

Most of heavy weights closed in green; where Kingdom Holding increasing by 2.13 percent and Saudi Telecom 2.09 percent. New player NCB rose 1.56 percent to SR59.57.

The market breadth was strong for the day as 128 stocks witnessing advances and other 24 stocks marking a decline.

Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance made the biggest jump among all Saudi equities, achieving a growth of 9.92 percent and closing at SR165.75. Trade Union Insurance and Middle East Specialized Cables Co. followed it, soaring up 9.89 percent and 9.62 percent respectively.

Trade Union shares climbed to a new 5-year high before closing at SR39.99.

On the other side of the spectrum, Mobile Telecommunications Company (Zain) hitting a fresh 10-year low became the biggest loser of the day, down 8.33 percent to close below its par value.

But the company with trades over 62 million topped the volume chart, a relative market share of 19 percent. Its volume went four times high over its 50-day average.

Market activity remained a little high as compared to previous day; turnover went up by 35.1 percent on volume basis and 14.8 percent in terms of liquidity.

Roughly 332 million shares worth SR8.4 billion were poured into the market. The 50-day average for trading turnover is closer to 234 million shares worth SR7.7 billion.
