BAGHDAD: Iraq exported an average of 2.341 million barrels per day (bpd) in December, down from 2.381 million bpd in November, Oil Ministry spokesman Asim Jihad said on Wednesday.

The average selling price was $102.9 per barrel, generating $7.47 billion in revenues, he added.

"Bad weather around the southern ports in the Gulf and repeated sabotage attacks and technical maintenance in the north have contributed to the December exports fall," Jihad said.

Iraq shipped 2.081 million bpd from the southern oil hub of Basra and 260,000 bpd from the northern Kirkuk oil fields. Flows through the pipeline from Kirkuk to the port of Ceyhan in Turkey have been repeatedly disrupted this year due to attacks.

OPEC's second biggest producer is expected to show a second year of only modest output growth in 2014.
