A dedicated forum on e-transactions with focus on unified IT strategy for government sectors in the Kingdom will kick off on Tuesday in Riyadh.

Being held under the auspices of Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, second deputy premier and interior minister, the two-day forum will be organized here at the security officers club.

Organized by the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the forum aims to open up electronic channels for exchange and communication between all the MoI departments and sectors, in addition to consolidating the ministry’s vision regarding the concept of adopting a unified IT strategy for all sectors, through elements of empowerment that represent a quantum leap in transformation from the current methods to the smart transactions that have become a necessity to keep up with the evolution of security challenges and demographic changes through the provision of capable human resources.

The ministry’s patronage for the specialized event comes within the framework of its plans to support initiatives that promote IT and enabled services in the Kingdom.

A MoI official said on Sunday that IT experts participating in the forum will make their specialized presentations addressing a number of themes including how to improve the information and communication technologies, the application of a unified cloud computing, the application of

a unified portal and the application of a unified ID card.

Moreover, an IT exhibition will also be organized alongside the forum where specialists from MoI departments and sectors will introduce models of the new electronic services launched by the ministry.
