Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara at his offices in Kingdom Tower, Riyadh.

The meeting was attended by Mohammed Almujadidi, senior executive manager at the office of the chairman; Heba Fatani, senior executive manager, corporate communications department; Nahla Nasser Alanber, private executive assistant to the chairman; and Fahad bin Saad bin Nafel, executive assistant to the chairman.

During the meeting, Ouattara and Prince Alwaleed discussed economic, investment and social issues related to their respective countries, in addition to the prince’s philanthropic activities in Africa. Also, Ouattara thanked Prince Alwaleed for his cooperation to strengthen the bilateral economic relationship between the two countries.

Recently, Prince Alwaleed met Ouattara during their visit to Senegal to attend the 15th Francophonie Summit. Moreover, during the visit, French President Francois Hollande and Prince Alwaleed attended the 15th Francophonie Summit at the International Conference Centre of Dakar in response to an invitation from Macky Sall, president of Senegal. The summit aims at further strengthening the current investment and economic relations within the Francophonie countries.

In addition, Prince Alwaleed met with 31 heads of state, vice-presidents, prime ministers and ministers during his visit to the 15th Francophonie Summit for countries, which have the French language in common on the theme of "Women and children in the Francophonie: Peacemakers and key players for development."

In 2006, Prince Alwaleed visited the Ivory Coast and met President Laurent Gbagbo at that time. During the visit, Prince Alwaleed was bestowed The Commander of the National Order of the Grand Cross Star Medal by the president in recognition and acknowledgment of the prince’s investments and humanitarian contributions to Africa.

The prince had also visited the Ivory Coast in 2005. During that visit Prince Alwaleed was given an honorary citizenship and the key to the city of Abidjan that was presented to Prince Alwaleed by the governor of Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
