KARACHI: Pakistani stocks recovered early losses to end the day higher, with the benchmark 100-share index at the Karachi Stock Exchange closing up 0.41 percent, or 138.62 points, at 34,151.11.

Trade was volatile and volumes above average as the market digested the 2015/16 budget.

Higher capital gains tax on some securities was seen as a short-term negative factor, dealers said.
