KARACHI: Pakistani stocks ended higher on Thursday, with the benchmark 100-share index of the Karachi Stock Exchange closing up 0.52 percent, or 177.12 points, at 34,085.74.
The rupee closed unchanged at 101.82/101.87 against the dollar.
Overnight rates in the money market fell to 5.50 percent from Wednesday’s close of 6.25 percent.
The stock market remained strong, with the recent cut in interest rates to seven percent generally boosting sentiment.
Textile companies were supported by expectations that the government would offer the sector concessions in its 2015/16 budget.
