KARACHI: Pakistani stocks ended higher, with the benchmark 100-share index of the Karachi Stock Exchange up 1.53 percent, or 506.59 points, to close at 33,563.38.
The rupee closed higher at 101.86/101.91 against the dollar compared with Friday’s 101.93/101.98.
Overnight rates in the money market remained flat at 6.50 percent.

The textile sector also saw renewed buying interest in anticipation of favorable policies in the upcoming budget, said Samar Iqbal, a dealer at Topline Securities.
Among the main movers, Maple Leaf Cement Factoryrose 1.74 percent to 70.30 rupees, while Nishat Mills Ltd. was up 2.43 percent at 111 rupees.
