ALKHOBAR: Saudi Arabian Mining Co. (Maaden) said on Sunday that a subsidiary had restarted its ammonia plant after scheduled maintenance.

Maaden, the Gulf's largest miner, shut the facility in Ras Al Khair, which it shares with Saudi Basic Industries Corp., from Jan. 23 for about 30 days.

In a statement on the Saudi bourse, it said the facility had come back online on Feb. 20.

Maaden reiterated that "the scheduled maintenance had no impact on the company's ability to meet its obligations toward its customer and had no significant financial impact." Maaden Phosphate Co. is 70 percent owned by Maaden, while SABIC holds the rest.
