Mobily successfully carried out the first phase of its technical plan for this year’s Haj, which is now in the midst of its second phase.

With the pilgrims completing their rituals easily and smoothly in the first phase at all the holy sites in and around Makkah, they have begun their journey to Madinah to visit the Prophet’s Mosque in the second phase of the annual pilgrimage.

Mobily earlier concluded all technical tests to ensure that the services and communication techniques that it has provided are of high quality, enabling the flow of global communication and data at places of high density.

Mobily has already raised the capacity of its network in the central region of Madinah and its surrounding areas by adding many fixed and mobile towers, and internal networks, especially in the central area to ensure better coverage in and around the hotels.

Khalid bin Omar Al-Kaf, MD and CEO of Mobily, said work in the second phase at the holy sites would continue on the same pace as in the first phase.

The technical committees with national competencies will work around the clock to monitor the performance of the networks.

Moreover, all branches and POS (point of sale) terminals deployed in the central area of Madinah will be at the service of the pilgrims visiting the holy city.
