KARACHI: Pakistan stocks ended higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark 100-share index at the Karachi Stock Exchange closing up 0.35 percent, or 119.17 points, at 34,270.28.
The rupee closed unchanged at 101.85/101.90 against the dollar.
Overnight rates in the money market fell to 6.25 percent from Monday's close of 6.50 percent.
The stock market continued its upward trend, helped by investors attracted to banking stocks which had lost some ground in recent sessions amid uncertainty over what last week's budget would mean for the sector.
Fertilizer companies also saw renewed interest, while cement stocks saw some profit-taking.
Muslim Commercial Bank fell 1.51 percent to Rs.257, while Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim was up 5 percent at Rs.54.43.
